Workshops

I use my children’s picture books and thoroughly researched Daesy Dialogue framework in high-energy, interactive workshops to help children understand, express and manage their emotions.

I educate parents, caregivers and teachers on how to work alongside their children and students to navigate challenging emotions and explore ways to engage in impactful conversations that drive change.

My tailored workshops accommodate diverse children, communication styles, parenting styles, learning abilities, and age groups, including both SEND and mainstream students.

Workshops for Children

My children’s workshops are fun and interactive, designed to be simple yet thought-provoking. They help children explore their emotions and behaviour, using examples from my book series and real-life scenarios to nurture understanding and promote healthy emotional growth.

I offer different workshops for younger and older pupils to best suit their developmental stages.

For younger pupils (3-8 years old), I use storytelling and interactive input to help them understand their emotions in a simple, relatable way. The stories are helpful prompts for recognising a varied range of emotions, why they may arise, associated physiological reactions, and suggestions on how to manage or support these feelings.

For older pupils (8-12 years old), my workshops are more in-depth and comprehensive, with a focus on discussion-based learning, encouraging students to engage in thoughtful reasoning and critical thinking around emotional experiences and positive mental health. Through open conversations and scenario-based exercises, they are encouraged to explore different perspectives, develop emotional resilience, and apply problem-solving strategies.

Workshops for Parents

These workshops involve me working alongside parents and caregivers to educate on ways that they can effectively and confidently support children’s emotional wellbeing. Using my hands-on Daesy Dialogue toolkit, I equip you with practical suggestions and tools to confidently connect and engage in meaningful conversations with your child that enable emotional growth and positive change.

My workshops and talks help you feel empowered about navigating your child’s big everyday emotions and challenging situations. My clear actionable steps can be applied with immediate effect and aim to bring out the best in your child, strengthening the parent-child relationship.

Immersive Day

workshops for children and parents

Nurturing emotional development in the early years plays a crucial role in building resilience and shaping long-term mental health. My resources and approach are designed to work collaboratively with young children and their trusted adults, helping them navigate big everyday emotions transparently and authentically.

The workshops aim to raise awareness, for both children and parents, about how to care for emotional health, encompassing growth and resilience, in a healthy and constructive way.

Teacher Training

The teacher training (including inset days) involves using The Daesy Dialogue toolkit to promote pupils’ emotional growth. I offer practical application of the framework and navigate readings of my children’s books with intentional prompts and questions.

I provide personalised one-on-one coaching and consultation through my 1:1 Connect, offering parents and caregivers support on how to overcome these challenges and build improved emotional confidence and communication, going beyond the insights from my readings and workshops.

These sessions provide a trusted, relaxed space for you to explore emotional struggles and enable you to understand your child better impacting positively on their emotional wellbeing. With The Daesy Dialogue toolkit, I help you set practical goals and follow up with ongoing check-ins to track your progress and refine your strategies.

Testimonials

You have the most incredible energy and enthusiasm and the girls, staff and parents all thoroughly enjoyed your talks.

Emily Jefford
Headteacher

The parent talk was very informative and the parents that attended the talk found the event extremely helpful for them to use the books in a much more functional way to help with the emotional growth of their children. The live story readings were awe-inspiring and the use of puppets with the story captivated the smallest of children to be fully engaged with the reading, which is hard when they are 2 years old. They are still talking about Olive and many of the children told us they had read your books at home over the weekend.

I recently had an introduction Story Club session with my son at his primary school. We both had a fantastic time as my son who can be shy at making friends, enjoyed interacting with Clare and her colleagues in several activities that helped him gain his confidence playing with others and exploring his creativity.

Father and former primary school teacher

What an incredible and valuable session from Clare and I feel we could all learn something from her style and enthusiasm. Clare had a large group of children with SEND and Behaviour concerns in her session and yet every single child stayed interested and engaged throughout her session. Clare’s story, props, reading style and energy captured the room including all of the supporting adults.

The session ended with one child at the front running up to her and hugging her shouting ‘I love you’ I was certainly left wanting more and I am sure the children would want this too. Please can we have her back for more sessions!

Claire Spokes
Family Worker/SEN/Inclusion

Meeting the basket of characters from The Little Paws Hotel was a great hook into Clare’s storytelling which the children were completely engrossed in from start to finish. The hall was so quiet, you could have heard a pin drop. The children enjoyed listening to the story of Peggy and which brought some complex scenarios and feelings forward. The children were eager and comfortable to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas with Clare who valued each child’s contributions. It was a wonderful experience for children and teachers alike.

Thank you for your wonderful talk yesterday evening. I bought your emotion books and they have been such a huge hit over the last 24 hours. We read Basil this bedtime and it was incredible. I read it to my 3.5 yr old and we both had a good cry which then led on to our 7yr old also releasing her emotions on death. What you are doing is so important.
